Innovation Revealed:
The Pressure Release Kobe Sub allows equalization of the TCP BHA to the annulus for pressure testing the packer. Communication is established by breaking the Kobe pin with the wireline logging tools once the packer is set.
Advantages:
- Safe, economical, simple and reliable
- Packer pressure testing ability
- Designed to ensure high pressure ratings
- Simple mechanical method to break the Kobe
- Pin is designed to prevent sticking of the wireline tools
- Redress Kits Available
Operations:
The Magnum Kobe Sub Assembly is commonly placed below the production packer and above the Magnum Underbalanced Sub when using the Mechanical Protect Firing Head. Once the TCP BHA is correlated into position, the Kobe can be broken off by the wireline logging tool. The production packer can now be tested by applying hydraulic pressure above the packer in the tubing casing annulus. |
