MAGNUMDISK™ REDRESS PROCEDURE 2-3/8" (60.3mm)

2-3/8” (60.3mm) Dual and Single MagnumDisk™ Part #:
01.GDDA.238.8EBP
01.GSDA.238.8EBP

(Part numbers will change according to thread type or box x muleshoe configurations.)

  • Place all parts on clean and uncluttered surface for ease of inspection and assembly

  • Check all parts for defects or damage. Thoroughly clean all threads and seal surfaces of rust, dirt, ceramic, and burrs.

  • If parts cannot be cleaned or repaired satisfactorily, replace it and lay it aside for re-work

  • Pre-assemble parts except for o-rings to insure the seal surfaces and threads are not damaged

  • Place the 228 viton o-ring on O.D. of the pin, box, or muleshoe body.

  • NOTE: All MagnumDisks are equipped with viton o-rings

  • Make certain there are no nicks or imperfections on the housing shelf!!

  • Place the 144 75 duro viton o-ring into the i.d. groove inside the housing

  • Put liberal amount of grease on body threads, the face of the pin end, and on the o-rings, and o-ring areas

  • Place the disk concave (cup shape) side first into housing

  • Insure the disk sets squarely upon the o-ring in the center of the housing

  • Next, lubricate the top of the ceramic disk and install the 228 viton o-ring on top of the ceramic disk. The 228 viton o-ring should be resting securely against the top of the ceramic disk

  • Assemble the body into the housing and hand tighten. This will push the ceramic disk to the 144 series o-ring.

  • Use a pipe wrench and vice to SLOWLY tighten through the tool. This will push the disk past the 100 series o-ring creating an o.d. seal on the disk.

  • Place the tool in the vise, the end away from the ceramic disk.

  • (Do not over-tighten vise as this could cause the housing to ovate and break or crack discs.)

  • Then tighten the body into the housing using a pipe wrench no cheater pipes.

  • None of the o-rings should be visible after the assembly

  • After tightening, visually check to ensure the disk is not cracked

  • Repeat the above procedures for the dual disk assembly.

  • Assemble test fixture and test tool to desired PSI
