Innovation Revealed:
The Single Magnumdisk™ frangible knockout sub is used to create an underbalance and for workstring isolation. The Magnumdisk™ Sub is run on the bottom of the tubing and/or below a production packer BHA. After the production packer is set with a Single Magnumdisk™, the wellbore reservoir is isolated. Once the upper production BHA is run in hole, latched in to the packer, and all tests are performed, the disk can be removed. Although the most common removal method is applying 1,000PSI (6.9MPa) overbalance pressure from surface, a Magnum Go-Devil Drop Bar, coil tubing, slickline, or sand line can also be used. Once the disk is removed, the wellbore fluids can then be produced up the production tubing.
Features:
- Economical alternative to profile nipple with a plug
- Eliminates the use of retrievable plugs
- Used for snubbing applications in live wells*
- Can be run in hostile environments (H2S & CO2)
- Can be run in heavy mud environment
- 400°F (204ºC) rated
- Little to no interfering debris left in the wellbore
- Fully open after disk is removed
- Reusable, with redressing kit and simple assembly procedure
- Available with premium threads & materials
- Can be pressure tested previous to installation
- Patent #5924696
*Magnum Oil Tools recommends the use of the Single Magnumdisk™ for snubbing operations as long as the pressure control company and or operator have procedures in place to secure/control the well in the unlikely event of tool failure.
